On the heels of our 3rd annual E-Health Symposium comes word that Geonetric has been voted a “Best Place to Work in Healthcare” by Modern Healthcare magazine. Those two important events in Geonetric’s history are juxtaposed nicely in my mind because our Symposium brings together our clients and our entire team.
Not only do almost all of our clients come to Iowa, but inviting all of our team members is a big deal to us. We held the Symposium barbeque at our beautiful Geonetric campus, where our in-house grillmaster and Senior Database Administrator prepared a fabulous selection of grilled chicken, pork and black bean burgers. Every employee was invited to attend. I suppose some companies might not really want to have everyone within the company show up for such an event – preferring the sales and account management types to be the “face” of the company. Perhaps they’d think it was risky to put some of the less customer-centric folks in front of clients. But we don’t think that way. We wanted everyone to show up – the folks behind the scenes and unsung heroes of our amazing team – to be a part of the festivities and meet the clients they hear about daily but may not have met in person. We’re proud to put our entire team out there.
This idea of putting talent front and center is a part of our culture here. We’ve gone to great lengths to put together the best Web software team in the state of Iowa; one that is so great that we win awards for our company’s culture, benefits and environment. These folks could work anywhere in the US. But these amazing software engineers, project managers, designers and numerous other experts in their respective fields have put their hearts and souls into making Geonetric what it is today – and are the key to what we’ll become in the future.
Pairing this incredible team with our outstanding clients at our Symposium is perhaps the best expression of who we are and what we do – more so than any Web site or marketing material could ever say. When we’ve got our team on the front lines, I can say, in my best James Earl Jones voice: This is Geonetric. And, I’m proud of it.
