Junior Geo’s at Geonetric

I recently had the opportunity to orient several new “honorary” employees to Geonetric … the sons, daughters, nieces, and nephews of our own employees.

On April 23rd we welcomed our Junior Geo’s to spend some time at Geonetric for National Take Your Sons and Daughters to work day.  The Junior Geo’s discovered Geonetric through a scavenger hunt; helped with a fundraiser for Relay for Life; participated in interactive sessions on coding, product management, and sales; and enjoyed a yummy picnic lunch.

I wanted to gleam many profound insights from the kids on why their parents and family members liked working at Geonetric, but I was unsuccessful in my attempt.  Instead they seemed to be happily immersed in the environment and meeting the staff. In fact, many parents told me their kids wanted to come back to work because they had such a great time.

This was Geonetric’s inaugural Take your Kids to Work Day event, and it was a success.  I hope our Junior Geo’s learned about a new career possibility. There is nothing better than to positively invest in the life of a child, as they are our future.
