The day a client’s new site goes live is obviously exciting. But for most of us at Geonetric, what’s really exciting comes in the weeks after go-live.
After the dust settles and the excitement dies down, we provide our clients a post launch report. In other words— tangible results they can take to their stakeholders and show the value the new site is providing.
We were just reviewing the launch report for one of our latest success stories and let’s just say –the first two weeks were pretty impressive.
- Overall home page traffic increased nearly 50 percent.
- Keyword rankings improved dramatically. Of seven key search terms, one ranked #1 on Google before launch. Post-launch, four are ranked #1 and one is ranked #3 on Google, and the others are climbing. There was also significant improvement in Yahoo rankings.
- New functionality is proving its value. Online transactions and submissions showed results from day one and within two weeks 130 job applications were received, 86 calendar registrations were submitted, and 70 cheer cards were sent. All new features that weren’t available on their old site.
All this in the first two weeks?!
What can we say? When we get our product and our brains working on a Web project clients see results immediately.
