The SHSMD Annual Conference is here. It’s a wonderful meeting planned chock full of great educational and networking opportunities.
If you’ll be at the conference in Chicago – stop by and see the Geonetric team in the exhibit hall!
As always, keep an eye on Geonetric for highlights of the meeting regardless if you’ll be joining us in Chicago or not. We’ll be sharing some highlights here on the Geovoices blog and on twitter. In addition to watching Geonetric, BenatGeo and EricEnglemann on Twitter, there’s a Twitter group of SHSMD 2010 attendees that you can follow (http://twitter.com/geonetric/shsm-2010).
For those of you making your way to Chicago, I’d like to point you to a few things not to be missed:
- The Patient-Centric Web: Then and Now: Ken Croken of Genesis Health System and I will be reminiscing about where we thought that this whole “Web thing” was going years ago and, based on that stellar track record, where we see things going now.
- Physician Marketing vs. Consumer Marketing: Which Brings More Patients in the Door?: Jeff Segall of Tri-City Medical Center and Bill Applegate, formerly of Southern Regional Health System, are going to explore the balance between marketing to consumers and providers.
- Emerging media roundtable: Gaze into Our Digital Ball: A Q & A on the Future of Emerging Media: Marcus Gordon of Atlanta Medical Center, Stephanie Cannon of Nationwide Children’s and Dean Browell of Feedback discuss what works and what doesn’t in healthcare social media.
And, on a personal note, this is the first SHSMD annual conference that I’m approaching from the leadership side of things. As part of the annual conference planning committee, I am one of the track leaders for the emerging media track (which is looking great, by the way). There’s a tremendous amount of work that goes into making the SHSMD Annual Conference happen every year and I hope to shine a little light on the rube-goldberg machine operating behind the scenes.
So pack your bags and I’ll see you in Chicago!
