Forrest Health Expands Reach with a System-level Website Launch

Since 1952, Forrest General Hospital has been a regional provider for healthcare services to its patients in south Mississippi. But in the last several years, Forrest General has been partnering with other hospitals in smaller communities – including Picayune, Columbia and Prentiss – to offer a wider range of services to a larger service area.

With such great partnerships in full swing, and a full breadth of services to offer people in communities in their region, it was time to represent themselves as a consolidated system under the name Forrest Health. And it was time to present that brand to the community, starting with a new website and the help of Geonetric.

Small steps in system direction

This change meant a Web presence for several of their rural community hospitals – like Jefferson Davis Community Hospital and Walthall General Hospital – that they didn’t have before. These facilities are now represented with customized location pages.

It also meant analyzing the Forrest General Hospital content in a new way, focusing on the whole of services and physicians offered by Forrest Health, and not on a per-hospital basis.

The new site offers an eye-catching design and new information structure, helping the hospital system tell its consolidated story. The new site also offers an improved calendar system, physician search, interactive map and services module, making it easy for users to quickly find what they need when they need it.

Forrest Health wanted to gently introduce the new system and brand to the community, but more than anything, show their patients and visitors how the new website can be a tool to find what they need. Forrest Health wants to support its users every step of the way, so Geonetric helped create an online tour.

With a few simple prompts, the tour guides the user through the various functionalities available on the site: How the “I Want To” navigation works, how to find various services available at Forrest Health and its many locations, and a guide to using the doctor search, which allows for search by specialty, by name or browse by name.

A consolidated approach and an improved experience

Forrest Health is ready to unveil itself to the world and match their patients and visitors up with the services, physicians and locations that can help them. With Geonetric’s ongoing support, Forrest Health will continue growing and improving the online experience for their patients.
